First off this was my first time ever at a mineral pool and I was not impressed. The rooms are very out dated and the the mineral pool was not what it was all cracked up to be. It felt just like a regular pool except it was heated. Then when you go to the pool you are not aloud too speak out loud you have to whisper because you have folks above the pool ease dropping on your conversation and turn you in and make a complaint because your friend is deaf and said the unforsakin F-WORD this is the 2022s not the 1900 an.

Then I go speak to front desk and they say PROFANITY not aloud. Welll them post that at the pool rules. There are no kids around if there were kids that word would not have been said if you are over 60 plus then this is where u need to stay under 55 should wanna go else where this is as tho I went to a retirement home at a Montessori

The room and hot springs are nice. Here are the issues I encountered: Food accessibility: we arrived on a weekday. Unfortunately our flight was delayed, and then it took a long time to find an uber that would drive us from the airport to the resort. By the time we got into our room at 8:30pm we realized all the remaining restaurants in the area closed at 9pm - even the grocery and convenience stores were already closed.

No doordash in the area. Luckily we rushed a takeout order at the last minute before going hungry for the night. No elevator: Had to lug our almost 50lb suitcase up a set of stairs to get to our 2nd floor room. Spa reservations: I arrived thinking I could check in and make reservations for the spa simultaneously. The front desk doesn't allow you to make spa reservations, and the spa lobby is closed, so you have to call.

I called and got through on my 4th try when they told me they have zero available appointments during my stay. Ok, I'll just go to one of the many other spas in the area. Wrong. All the other hotels reserve their spa for hotel guests only. Guess I should have booked with them instead. Transit: I managed to find an uber to take us from Santa Rosa airport to the resort, but not any uber/lyft to take us back. Asked the front desk for recommendations and was told there are no taxis, shuttles, or buses to take us there, and I could try finding a bus to Napa and calling for an Uber there.

It seems pretty much everyone assumes you brought a car with you. I ended up calling a taxi from a nearby town and paying an upcharge for them to drive to Calistoga to pick us up.

Heaven! The pool, the pool, the pool. Sooo revitalizing and wonderful. We had a newly renovated room and loved it. The whole place inside and out is so very clean. And the gardens are just stunning, so much foliage and beautiful flowers everywhere. We visited in April so there were tulips galore! Can hardly wait to go back!

This is more of a motel than a spa. The rooms are noisy and there is limited housekeeping. The main pool is small, but nice. It gets a little crowded. The massages we received were ok, but the facility is nothing more than a few rooms next to a parking lot. It is not a spa set-up. They don't offer any amenities outside of a clinical check-in and a massage room.

To be clear, the staff is very nice at the "spa", but it is not a spa experience. We were also a little frustrated with the manager, as she wanted to charge us $25 to check in 1 hour early, even though the room was ready. I don't understand that logic. She also refused to allow us a late checkout (12:30). We had 11am massage appointments and wanted to shower before we left the facility.

There are no real options on the property to shower and change except your room. The manager was completely inflexible, even though our late checkout would not have affected the cleaning staff's schedule (they were not going to be able to clean all the rooms prior to getting to urs). Net, it is a good last minute hotel if you can't find anything else. We booked last minute and this was all we could find. The rooms are likely cheaper that other resorts in the area. You get what you pay for. However, we won't be returning.

I've been traveling for a few days now and this is the first place I've stayed that has been truly quiet. You don't hear a peep once you close the door, and the rooms have a lovely feel about them. Very nicely appointed with an extremely comfortable bed and some wonderful touches like bottled natural spring water, an in room coffee maker, and wine glasses for all the wine you will buy while you're here.

Friendly staff. Very quiet even when doing landscaping. Keep blowers at lowest settings. No e about reminding me not to bring my coffee cup into pool area.plastic cups only for safety reasons.

The staff was awesome. There was a small maintenance issue when my wife and I had our mud bath scheduled. They swiftly took care of the issue, which never effected us just pushed our start time. The offered a free mud face scrub, but we declined it. The whole experience was great. The message was awesome. They definitely earned their good tip from us. Thank you Roman spa staff.

My family and I traveled out to Roman's and when we arrived we were told that we couldn't sit by the pool because we had a 5 month old baby. He wasn't going to be in the water, but did need to be with his mother and father poolside. They told us it wasn't permitted though no where does it say this on their site or on the pool grounds. This will be the last time we stay here. Change your policy, quiet and well mannered families should be permitted or don't sell us your rooms.
