I had only thought of a chiropractor as addressing spinal issues but now think of Dr. Hunter for any of my body's aches and pains. Because of what he did for my daughter, she was able to get back into the pool and work her way to the school record for the 500 Free by the end of the season! I highly recommend Dr. Hunter for Chiropractic services! Born at Edwards Hospital, Naperville native Dr. Justin Hunter remembers hanging out in the fire station that is now Lou Malnati's Pizzeria, with his father who was a Naperville fire fighter. And while his mother would grocery shop at Cee Bee's, Justin would meander down Jefferson Avenue, making regular stops at the City Meat Market for a slice of bologna, and Oswald's to check out the candy selection. Life was good. Everyone knew your name. These are just some of the fond memories he has of growing up in a place he loved.

A pinched nerve can occur in different places in your body. When a nerve's function is disrupted, causing tingling, numbness or pain, that's known as a pinched nerve. For example, carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by a pinched nerve in the wrist which leads to pain and numbness in the hand. A pinched nerve occurs when tissues (i.e., bone, tendons, etc.) surrounding a nerve put too much pressure on the nerve. For example, a herniated disc can put pressure on the sciatic nerve (which runs across the lower back, hip and down the leg) leading to a condition known as sciatica.

Why do I need Physical Therapy? The Physical therapist at Pure Health and Wellness is there to help your body to heal. At our clinic Chiropractic care and physical therapy go hand in hand, building on each other to help patients reach their goals quicker. What is the difference between Chiropractic and Physical therapy? Chiropractic focuses on aligning the whole body for better mechanics and Physical therapy focuses on strengthening and stretching muscles so they can better support your newly aligned body and function.

The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons surrounding the shoulder joint. Injuries to the rotator cuff can cause a dull ache that may worsen during sleep and may also make it difficult to reach above your head or behind your back. Rotator cuff pain may the result of an injury, but very often it's due to someone performing repeated tasks requiring overhead motion (i.e., carpenters, tennis players). Age is also a risk factor in rotator cuff injuries as they are more common in people over 40.

Heel pain can range from mild to disabling. One of the most common causes of heel pain is plantar fasciitis which causes pain and stiffness. At first, it can be mild and then become more severe without treatment. Heel pain can start off gradually and may be triggered by wearing a flat shoe with no arch support. It's often caused by plantar fasciitis when the plantar fascia ligament (which connects the heel to the front of your foot) is damaged. Although these ligaments act as shock absorbers, too much pressure can damage the ligaments causing inflammation and pain.
