The Ice Cream cats have enjoyed all the visitors the past couple weekends, but now they're ready to buckle down and start finding their new homes. So we're calling all interested adopters! An adoption counselor will reach out to schedule an in-person meeting this weekend or next. Because these guys came from a house with over 40 of their extended family members were hoping for people who are willing to adopt a pair. After all- who doesn't love a double dip? We'll be featuring some of our suggested pairs over the next few days.

This is such a unique healing center! I have great experiences whenever I see a doctor or practitioner there. I highly recommend this place to anyone with an alternative view on healing!

It's a center with different offices servicing acupuncture and meditation among some and it considered the front side entrance to the heartwood center. Lisa Meyerson is a licensed acupuncturist with focus on fertility. Extremely lovely down to earth lady, full of energy and love.

A truly wonderful place, I got accupuncture here while going through chemo many years ago and it was a huge support for a difficult process. Very caring, soothing environment.

I've attended various programs at Heartwood and have always enjoyed my experience. The community at Heartwood is warm and welcoming and is always willing to open it's doors to new comers. It's a very beautiful, open, space and not only has various practitioners but also has regular Yoga and Tai Chi classes as well as Meditation and talks on Sundays. This is a perfect place if you're looking for holistic methods of healing and to deepen your spiritual practice in general!

Total hidden gem. No, really, it's actually hidden. There is a door, I think it's red, across from Bennison's Bakery and this is Heartwood (upstairs). I didn't know this place existed until this summer. The yoga classes are great! The owner is welcoming and kind. Grateful Yoga, Nick and Lela Beem, teach here. Their classes are excellent and refreshing. I have not explored all of the services they have to offer but I hope to in the coming year.

This place is a great holistic center that offers several classes and workshops for yoga, meditation, t'ai chi and general well-being. It's a fantastic place to realign your body, mind and, ever important, spirit.

This is one of my favorite places in Evanston. The practitioners here are all wonderful people and it is truly a community gathering place. Check out their website www.heartwoodcenter.com. Psychotherapy, bodywork, yoga, tai chi, qi gong, acupuncture. Also check out their Women & Cancer program- providing free services to low income women with cancer.
