I just had the most wonderful experience with Taylor Withers at Gilda's. I got a women's haircut and highlight from her and she did an absolutely beautiful job. I love my hair so much! She is so fun and friendly and made getting my hair done a good experience. My husband also got a really nice men's cut from Hope Miller, whom I also highly recommend.

We are both so happy with our experience at Gilda's and best of all, it was very affordably priced. We are so happy we were able to receive these wonderful services from Gilda's without breaking the bank. Taylor also gave me some really good hair care advice. I highly recommend this salon along with Taylor and Hope to anyone looking for a great hairstyle at an affordable price.

I was seen by Mary Ann for a massage and facial in May. I have never had a massage as tailored to my specific needs and wants in my life. Mary Ann truly customized my massage with a combination of ashiatsu, deep tissue, and warm bamboo massage. I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend!

Went in for a simple wash, cut and style. Came out with hair looking worse than what I went in with. My appointment started at 9:00, I was finished (washed, cut, blow dry, and straighten) by 9:40. My past experiences here have been around/over an hour. After parting my hair I noticed I was never asked if I wanted layers, a pretty common question. My stylist did not seem to want to go the extra mile, she added detangler to my hair, I think that's it.

If you're like me, you enjoy the use of more than one product at a paid for haircut. I left in a rush due to the holidays, (Tennessee hate week). So I called later, I talked to the assistant and all they could offer me was for the same stylist to re-"cut" my hair. I was not happy, I said no thank you. Hair salons are a large part of the customer service industry and I can assure there were other alternatives besides a re-cut from the same stylist, same day.

This has not been my first "meh" haircut from here and I was very disappointed I was not offered an alternative stylist/date for their error. Had my hair felt/looked like it should have after any normal haircut, I wouldn't have to make a new appointment at another salon! Picture taken immediately after I left

This was my first time at Gilda's. Very cool and relaxing atmosphere. I got a spray tan for upcoming nuptials. Alicia was patient and kind. She made me feel extremely comfortable in an awkward situation. I have already booked my next session with her. All of their services are fairly priced. The only suggestion I have is to have more than one fan in the spray tanning room. I will highly reccomend this business to anyone.

I've been a regular haircut (shampoo, cut, and style) customer here for several years now, as has the husband, and somehow I feel a little "eh" about Gilda's. Sometime last year my stylist raised her prices -- the front desk said something about a promotion -- so a women's cut is now $33 plus tip. Note that I only found out about this when I went to pay.

I realize inflation, paying for quality service, all that. But now a basic haircut appointment runs me close to $40 with tip. Plus, my appointments have been taking 30 minutes, but my stylist seems to consistently run 3-5 minutes late at the start and I'm always back in my car 30 minutes after the appointment time. So not including paying at the end, I'm really only getting a 20 minute appointment.

My hair isn't long or complicated, but the overall effect makes me feel like a not terribly valued customer. Adding to my irritation is that men's appointments are 45 minutes, the excuse being that they require more precision, yet only cost $28 (previously $23). So along with feeling kind of rushed through, I'm starting to feel like I'm getting upcharged just for being female. So while Gilda's is still perfectly fine, I'm just not prepared to rave about them at this point.

Just an overall bad experience. The people in the salon were not only rude but did a very below average job. The cut my hair unevenly by about a 1 1/2 in difference on either side. I paid and tipped her. Once I realized that it was messed up I walked back in and asked for it to be fixed. All of the employees were rude and seemed to not care about their job. I 100% do not recommend this place to anyone unless they like uneven hair.

Based on s friend's recommendation (and her hair) I booked a cut/color with Taylor. I'm new to Tuscaloosa, and women know what a challenge it can be to find a new stylist. Taylor made me feel comfortable immediately, and helped me to choose a new color. My goal was for something edgy but age-appropriate. She added some red highlights to my hair--something I probably wouldn't have chosen, but I like it a lot.

I have thick-ish, curly hair, and I like the modified bob gave me. I usually get a blowout when I get my hair cut. It's fun to have straight shiny hair for a few days and then it's back to curly. Through some combination of skill/product or wizardry, my blowout still looks good, and I'm coming up on *three weeks* since it was done. I've combed it a few times and put it up when I shower, but otherwise nothing.

No dry shampoo; no product at all. at all. Caveat: I have very dry hair, and have gone for a week or two without shampooing, depending on humidity and activity level, but nothing like this. I'm going to see how long this blowout lasts, and return for another one. Go see Taylor.

I was treated to a full salon day as a gift I received a great cut and color and blowout. I really enjoyed the massage it was an hour long and my massage therapist really focused on my problem areas. My facial was out of this world! Like so good I actually went back for another! The dinner provided on my package was great to I picked BBQ you can't go wrong with that.

My only complaint was the tech who did my Mani and pedi said she was a hair tech and not a nail tech my toes and fingers polish was really badly done it was wonky and not even and my pedi was lack luster but over all a great spa experience

I decided to go to Gilda's based on reviews, but this was a huge mistake. I have serious back and neck issues that needed to be tended to, and I asked the masseuse to focus on getting the knots out because I am in the middle of finals and will be traveling soon. She did the exact opposite. She basically just "rubbed" my back for an hour, and when I asked her to actually dig into the knots that were seriously hurting me, all she offered to do was put Biofreeze on it. I didn't pay $90 for a back rub. I wanted my pain relieved, and this did not happen whatsoever. Worst massage I have ever had.

I had an amazing swedish massage and mini facial today. Maryann was absolutely amazing and I was totally relaxed after my massage. Rachel's mini facial was heavenly and I can't wait until I get to experience a whole hour with her.

I have tried a dozen salon's since relocating to Tuscaloosa, I have walked away unhappy every single time, until I gave Gilda's a try! I've had 2 appointments with Gabby so far and I won't go anywhere else! Everyone is so polite and always listen to what I want and I've left feeling confident each time!

Mary Ann is the best massage therapist at Gilda's! She's so sweet and makes you feel so comfortable! She works on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, so if you're looking for a great massage look no further! I get the deep tissue but just know that with Mary Ann any massage you decide on is going to be incredible!

Gilda's is really a great spot- it's a one stop shop and great atmosphere. I have no complaints about the services I have gotten there or the people I have worked with. In fact, Rachel did my facial and she was wonderful and my skin looks/feels amazing. But the front desk staff leaves something to be desired. Every time I've been in, my services were prepaid and prebooked, yet they have tried to charge me a second time both times.

They didn't seem to know who I was or what services I was getting and honestly weren't very friendly. I would definitely recommend a massage and facial there. I've also had a haircut and mani/pedi. But make sure you double check everything before you pay.

Great spa. I frequently go here for facials and waxing with Rachel. The environment is relaxing and the staff is always polite. Today I received a deep tissue massage from Carrier. It was a great stress reliever. I would definitely recommend this spa for facials treatments and massage therapy.

I called the salon to find out if they accepted walk ins and they told me that they did. I also asked if there was a wait, and they said there was. I showed up 20 minutes later fully prepared to wait, signed in, and sat down. About 10 minutes later they called my name and told me that they were booked up all night. I told them that I had called ahead about walk-ins, and they repeated that they were booked.

No apology or anything. Keep in mind their sign says they accept walk-ins too. I can't say much for the quality of the stylists, but the customer service needs some work. If you claim to accept walk-ins on your sign and when people call, then you need to be prepared for walk-ins.

I came here to get my nails done and I always do a gel manicure. They did an excellent job on shaping and caring for my nails and they had a pretty good selection of not only Shellac polish but little jewels or beads and glitter. With that being said, however, I will not be going back for my regular manicure service. They are simply too expensive for a gel nail service.

I misunderstood the pricing on their website and had decided to try them out bc I thought they were going to be cheaper than the previous place I had gone to get my nails done. The manicure ended up costing $44 without tip.which is close to $10 more than the majority of places I've been to for gel manicures. It costs $44 because the manicure itself is $21+ and the shellac polish is $25.

So most places I've been to just have you pay a flat fee for a gel manicure whereas this place charged for the manicure AND the shellac polish. Needless to say, I won't be coming back anytime soon simply bc I think the pricing is a ripoff.

I'm SOOOO glad they rebuilt after the tornado! I graduated around the time they re opened, by I was able to get my hair colored there a few times before I moved, and they did a great job! (Per usual) The interior of the salon is really nice now! BIG UPGRADE!

Heather at Gilda's is absolutely wonderful! I wanted a pixie cut, and she listened to everything I wanted and delivered. I've received countless compliments on it, and she has also kept it looking wonderful every time I visit. She is the only stylist I've had experience with, so I can't speak for anyone else there, but I definitely recommend Heather! And the prices at Gilda's are also very reasonable--great for students on a budget.
