The most beautiful spa I've ever been in. You're instantly relaxed the moment you walk in. Madison is a really good esthetician too.

Highly recommend Face Place & Spa! Clean, Professional, and Experienced. I've gotten a variety of services (massages, brow tint, etc) and I've always had a positive experience. Book now, you won't be disappointed!

I've been going here for a couple years and love Karen M for my eyebrows and skin care. She is wonderful! However, when I made an appointment with Nicolette for microblading she was a no-show. Then to find out it was her second week in a row of not showing up. I really don't appreciate taking time off from work and driving there only to be told she's not coming in.

The gals at reception were very nice, but the manager could've shown some consideration and let them know ahead of time to call me before I drove all the way there. I overheard the call because I was awkwardly sitting right there, so it was already known she wasn't coming in. This wasn't some spur of the moment cancellation.

I have been getting services here for approximately ten years. I will never go again. The support staff are condescending, unprofessional and rude. It's just not worth having to deal with them anymore. I know four other people that stopped having services here for the same reason. Read the 1 and 2 star reviews they are very accurate.

I come here every year on my birthday to pamper myself; my Birthday gift from my Boyfriend. I usually get a massage with Jenny Burg who is fantastic. I really appreciate her reiki abilities and her massage technique is on point. Today I came in for an hour and 15 minutes service for facial. I showed up one minute past my 3:00 appointment which was my own fault.

However the greeting I received was very cold. "Come with me to the room. Need the bathroom. It's there.". No introduction. I had an appointment with Kathy. I felt that my service was not as relaxing as I had expected. It felt very medical almost and rushed. She is fantastic at what she does, she just seems to be missing. Spa etiquette?. I guess you would call it.

I couldn't quite relax completely. I highly recommend this spa to anyone. I would just hope in the future even if you are their last client that they are just as welcoming and calming and relaxing as their first client of the day. I felt rushed out the door because they were closing. If I had known that that would be my experience I would have scheduled for earlier in the day. Disappointed. Hoping for better experience in the future with DIFFERENT esthetician.

Support staff is so abrasive and condescending that although my brows never look better than when Karen does them I will never go back. It began when I called to confirm my appointment and front desk sighed as if I was bothering her. When I was paying I wanted to use my debit card to pay the tip. I asked for $20 and was told I can only give you 20% "that's what's customary ".

I replied that I understood but I would like to give her more. No she said again $5 would be a customary tip. If we did that for ever one we would have no money left in the draw. I told her I understood but I was the last customer. The snappy reply " well I have to make up the bank for tomorrow " Because it would be too difficult to let the morning person know she was starting $15 short? She just took $15 out of her coworker's pocket. If I hadn't had an appointment she would have had an hour less work today.

I wouldn't even know where to start with how unprofessional today's service was. I had a signature facial booked with the owner Louise. First problem was I was really looking forward to relaxing, quiet, maybe the sound of trickling water running in the background, but that's not what I got. Louise talked and talked and talked about anything and everything.

I heard the history of seaweed along with some girls escape from Poland in 1943. I never answered her hoping she would get the point I didn't want to talk. I just wanted to relax while getting a facial. Her cell phone also rang during my session. She left the room multiple times to get things. The other thing was about half way through the facial she stopped and said she was sorry but she had accidentally started to give me a seaweed facial even though I had booked and confirmed a signature facial.

She then proceeded to tell me this facial was better for me anyway. On the way out, I got charged $9 more for the seaweed facial that I didn't book! That was her error and they should have eaten the cost difference. I would not plan on returning, ever. I'm so disappointed.

2 stars only because they acknowledged bad service and didn't charge me. I've been going here for almost 10 years and it's been fine. But after today's odd encounter with the owner, I can't spend my money there anymore. Sitting in the waiting area at The Face Place this morning, I didn't realize that the loud woman cussing around guests who were trying to relax, and letting her dog climb on waiting area furniture as she redecorated retail products and shelving, was actually the esthetician who was 15-minutes late for my appointment.

I was just about to get up to quietly inform the receptionist that I needed to get to a client meeting and was going to have to leave due to the delay, when I heard the receptionist tell the cussing/redecorating woman that she had clients waiting. She introduced herself as the owner. At first I was embarrassed for her, understanding that we are all human and get things mixed up. But, instead of being apologetic for the wait, she asked me if I saw what she was working on out in the waiting room and laughed about not knowing she had any clients waiting for her. Isn't schedule the first thing she should have done that morning?

It was an extremely odd conversation where she was trying to blow off the poor service and get me to feel bad for her because I'd interrupted her decorating session. I would never tell a client I was late to an appointment because I wanted to redecorate and sell them retail products instead. Now, more than 15-minutes late for what should be a 5-minute appointment, and after handling a dog, the owner of The Face Place was ready to put her fingers on my face -- including my mouth -- without washing her hands.

I told her that I had seen her holding a dog and asked her to please wash her hands. "I was just going to use the alcohol, " she responded. I told her I was uncomfortable and wanted to leave. She told me she didn't "want any trouble" and that she would wash her hands with soap and water and not charge me for the appointment. She left the room to wash her hands because there aren't sinks in the treatment rooms (sketchy!).

When she returned (with dry hands) she kept talking to me about television shows and asking me about my work. I just wanted to leave. It was so strange, awkward, and I regret not leaving because now all I can think of is the breakout erupting on my face and how I need to find a new place to get waxed!

Been here every so often for many years, but I won't be back. I came for a bikini wax. Karen M. came out to get me, called my name, and walked away ahead of me, rather than waiting and saying "hello" or at least smiling. Got into the room, still no greeting. I don't usually complain, and I don't expect someone to talk to me the whole time, but a simple hello goes a long way.

Especially when you are getting a bikini wax, you want to feel comfortable. Once she put the wax on me, she kept picking at it to see if it was ready. This hurt more than just pulling it off. I've had many bikini waxes and I've never experienced someone doing this so much. I would never complain just about the pain involved, as I don't claim to know why that was happening, but the unfriendly behavior is what put me over the edge.

When you come to a "nice" salon, you are paying for professionalism, atmosphere, and service. I think the atmosphere is amazing and I really want to like this place, but I won't be back. There's a million other nice salon's I can give my business too that don't treat me like they are herding cattle.

I can not express how lovely the face place and spa is! I went in for the very first time the other day for a spray tan for my upcoming prom and it looks fantastic! From the second I walked in I knew that it was very clean and nice. The staff is very kind and they even had a puppy there (and it was the sweetest dog I have ever met). I have never had a spray tan before so I was quite nervous but it was one shade and Karen did a great job.

I waited 6 hours until I showered and it developed more the day after. The color is so natural and not orange in the slightest bit, with absolutely no streaks! I'm so happy I chose the face place and I will 100% be back for not only spray tans but for the other services they have!

I was a little nervous to try this place after seeing some of the reviews but I was visiting family who live in Hanover and really needed to get my nails done. I booked a gel manicure and pedicure with Aimee and it was such a lovely experience. She really took her time, I didn't feel rushed in any way and her attention to detail was great. The manicure lasted a very long time and I would definitely return! Want to try a facial next time.

I have never had anyone do eyebrows as well as Alisa at Face Place and Spa. She takes her time and gets the perfect arches. They never look "overdone". I highly recommend her!

I'm going to break down my review into two parts: the actual space, and the services received. First a little background: I booked an appointment for waxing and was able to book time for 6:00PM on a Thursday afternoon. More on this later, but I wanted to note that it was very easy to book an appointment online, and I was able to get the time I wanted. First, the space: beautifully and meticulously decorated, and the ambiance is top notch.

I loved the way the space smelled, with calming perfumes and colors. I felt very relaxed upon entering, and I felt that the front desk woman was courteous and professional. Off to a great start. However, I was taken almost 20 minutes late by Karen (I think that was her name), who did not offer any apology for her tardiness in taking me late, and who did not introduce herself to me (full disclosure, this was the first time I was at this particular place).

She proceeded to make excuses as to why she was late, and was rushing around trying to get set up. Relaxed feeling gone, by this point. I felt that she was a bit rougher than she needed to be, especially with the area that she was waxing, and I felt that it was a rushed job. There was a knock on the door letting her know that the next appointment was here, and she proceeded to drop at least 4 curse words about how she feels rushed all the time and she can't take her time with the clients.

This was completely inappropriate, considering that (a) this was my first time at this spa, and (b) the amount of money I was spending for the service. I don't think she got all the areas I had asked her to get (there is still hair in places where there shouldn't be, especially after a wax job). When she was finished, she immediately left the room without offering to help me clean up, and she did not offer any sort of goodbye or offer to see me again in a few weeks.

In my mind, that is what knocked it down to three stars. Otherwise, I have no complaints about the space and the front desk personnel. Honestly, I likely won't rush back, but will instead find another salon where I can get a complete job done, without having to hear curse words or feel like I'm just another person that is being rushed in and out.

Went here because I received a gift card. I got a facial and a pedicure. While waiting in the lobby for my service one of their workers sat down next to me and started offering me unwanted weight loss advice (I had just had a baby two week prior). They were almost thirty minutes late to get me for my first service and the lady told me it was because she was on the phone with Comcast for her internet service.

She then proceeded to talk about herself and her family during my facial and it was completely unrelaxing. Next was my pedicure that was so bizarre, no pedicure chairs so it was so uncomfortable, feet in a bucket of water to soak. Also the end result was shappy looking and chipped almost immediately. Really terrible experience and odd time at this spa. I do not recommend.

Go to see Karen M for waxing and facials. Karen is very experienced and I wouldn't hesitate to follow her recommendations. She does an excellent job and has fair pricing. Manicures and pedicures are not as good as those done at less expensive places.

Jenny is the best massage therapist hands down on the South Shore. I've been searching to a serious deep tissue massage for sports related pain and she was the only therapist able to relieve my lower back pain. She has a calm presence and your worries will melt away.

Horrible. What a waste of a beautiful salon. Aside from the women at the front desk the staff is unfriendly and all business. This place charging $85 for a facial is a joke. they are FAR from spa quality. Alisa did mine and she was awful. 15 mins late with no apology, no pleasantries and just wanted to rush through it. They put the mask on you and leave the room, what spa does this anymore?

How about use that time for a massage! I'm not paying you good money to sit alone in an uncomfortable room. The rooms are tiny and look more like you're about to get a Pap smear than a facial! I would go to Charles David next time.

I had a spray tan with Kathy this morning. She was very professional and knowledgeable. I hadn't had a tan in a while so I was a little nervous that it'd be streaky or orange. I'm half Irish so needless to say, I have pretty fair skin. Kathy was very meticulous and the results show! Only after a few hours, I already have a healthy, even glow. 5 stars, and I will definitely be returning to see her again

Had a gift card for for The Spirit Lifter given to me by my husband for a Valentine gift several years ago (date issue 2-13-10). So I call and explained to women on phone that I had a gift card for The Spirit Lifter which was for facial, massage and manicure which they no longer had that package but would honor the price and credit toward another service.

I went for facial today and after service I presented the gift care and was informed not valid expired after 7 years. So a gift card worth $150 was not honored no even a fraction and I paid $87 dollars for a facial I had today along with $20 dollar tip--yes that is a total of $257 dollars (The women for facial was very nice) The reason I booked this service was due to the gift card and I had called to make this and explained about the gift card. NOT a good way to do business.

For mother's day I recommend to husbands and children just take your mom out and treat her our lives are so busy at times we forget to treat ourselves and do not use our gift cards---I know I don't. So today was not a relaxing experience as it should have been. It is actually upsetting!

I called in yesterday because I was having a skin EMERGENCY. My usually clear skin was having a crisis, and threw me into a spiral because of it. I called the Face Place and in the heat of my meltdown was failing to describe the problem. The courteous woman on the phone told me no problem, that they could book me for an hour for their latest appointment (I work in Quincy until 6) and that they could do a consultation to best address my concerns.

I went in, and was taken in immediately by Diane, the miracle worker. I left there with a rosy but clear face and marching orders from Diane to continue my face treatment. I followed her instructions and woke up with a clear and youthful looking face this morning, and practically cried with joy! Diane and Face Place staff, thank you so much for treating my face (and by nature myself) off the ledge.

Uuuuuuuuggggghhhhhh whyyyyyyyyyyyy? I had had such a good experience there my first time around for a pedicure I was excited to go back for a massage and full leg wax before a vacation. The massage was great but the wax was TERRIBLE! Ok, waxing hurts in general but when you go through a bunch of discomfort with no result uuuuuuugggggghhhh. I am not hairy by nature but without getting into detail, the employee (very nice) did an AWFUL job.

I tried to contact the Face Place about the issue and was informed, by the owner, that there must be something wrong with me and that the presumed baby sounds in the background, on the phone, needed to be babysat so I could "get fixed up". This was the owner.stating there was something wrong with my legs and that noises she heard needed a babysitter when I described my inability to just run down to her spa/den of waxing failure. Uuuuugggghhhhh so baaaaaad. #FAILURETOWAX

The Best facials, service and staff! I've tried them all, from Newbury St to Nantucket, and The Face Place is by far the best! Beautiful relaxing spa, very knowledgeable and experienced skin care professionals, great products and fabulous pedicures : Great for laser and massages too.

Had a groupon for a facial and a mani pedi. Had the facial done and made an appt for a Mani Pedi another day (even though it would have been after the groupon expired). The woman at the front desk said they would do that - it was no big deal. When I was coming in for my appt the owner didn't agree with that set up. So I never got my Mani Pedi. Their loss because they have lost out on years of future Manis, Pedis and Facials. Ouch!
