My services ended but I always intended to return. A couple months later I tried to log into my account and get in touch with support to discuss re-initiating my hosting service and after 5 to 10 minutes of attempting. I realize that support is no longer available. Especially considering my hosting plan expired they are no longer willing to even talk to me and discuss how I can resume. disgusting practice feels like a slap in the face. I too have been using their service for probably 3 to 5 years. Scumbag behavior.

I turned auto-renewal for my website off and wanted to remove my credit card to ensure I would not be charged. But they don't have that option. Guess who was still charged for another year of service. Customer service was no help. Would not recommend using this company to build or host your website.

They kept my credit card info and auto renewed even after I canceled all services 9 months ago and again canceled the auto renew. The cancelled partial service and charged my credit card without my consent. Their system does not allow you to remove your credit card information. I filed a complaint to FCC.gov and FTC.gov for charging me without my consent and after canceling over the phone with their rep and canceling auto renewal online.

Also disputed the charge with my credit card company. SiteGround refuses to refund nor cancel my account. Beware! This company was referred to me by my social media professor. I thought it was a legitimate business. Rip off!

I 've been with siteground for 5 years and have loved them. But now that they've taken the ability to chat with support away I have to leave them. If this is something that you need, don't sign up with Siteground at all.

Absolutely horrendous technical support. I am a full stack developer and have had my site affected dramatically by their updates with no time to prepare and no comprehensive documentation as to the expected affects or what was actually changed. Every time I have needed to contact support, it's like they don't even try to read and respond to the content.

They see key phrases and send stock responses, leading to weeks worth of back and forth emails just trying to get anyone to actually respond and try to help. I could not be less satisfied.

I wish I would've looked up these reviews prior to purchasing hosting service that I didn't receive and website migration. These people lied about migrating my website and charged my account for two years of hosting without even hosting my account. The developer that I worked with hosted the website because they never migrated the site to there platform.

Then overcharged me for service that I didn't receive. They robbed me blind, these people are crooks. Don't walk away, Run Run as fast as you possible can to a real hosting company. No real help with customer service after they rob you. You have to enter a code to even get a hold to them after you provide your payment information.

We have had Siteground for over a year. At first, the problem was space. I kept having to clean out large emails. That seems to be fixed, now for the 5th time in about 2 weeks they are dealing with some type of issue and the emails are coming in HOURS LATE! Hours! I just saw one that was sent at 11am, got it around 8pm. I have clients pissed off at me, asking if I'm working, why am I not replying to their requests. Because I never got the emails! I would avoid this company. The frustration from not being about to communicate with my clients and vendors is monumental.

Siteground was/is the domain registrar for 2 of my domain names (not live sites). I wanted to transfer those domain names but SiteGround has made that impossible. I've emailed. I've called. Maybe my attorney needs to write them a snail mail letter. Their new redesign has so many broken links I don't know where to start. That's the source of a lot of my frustration.

Their pages don't work anymore. I moved to GreenGeeks a year ago and they answer the phone and have excellent chat support by a real person that knows how to fix things.

I've been a Siteground customer for nearly 4 years. Never had a problem. Customer service has always been exceptional. I highly recommend Siteground. The are one of the officially recommend WordPress web hosts. They have an excellent rating on TrustPilot with nearly 10,000 reviews. I can't understand the 1 star ratings here on Yelp, but hey, even Disneyland has 1 star reviews. Can't please everyone.

I highly recommend Siteground for your hosting needs. I like using technical support. Every time I call I usually get an answer. Since I am not technical I like being able to call them 24/7. I was at another hosting company and my website crashed. The hosting company I was with lost my backups. I switched to Siteground for peace of mind.

We were considering changing our hosting for our website so spent over an hour on the online chat setting up an account. We told the agent on the chat that we wanted to move over our emails eventually but not yet. She asked what the email addresses were so she could have them in the account so when we were ready, we could switch over. After setting up the account, we discovered our emails with our current provider were not active.

We are a small business so not receiving emails affects our income. I spent over an hour trying to get someone on the phone to help us fix this problem but it is next to impossible to get someone live as they do not have a phone number listed. You have to start with the chat, which did not help us and then request a service call, which we could not access.

After an hour of frustration, we decided to just cancel the new account and stick with our current hosting company. I again had to get on the chat to cancel, which took another 20+ minutes as they do not have a phone number listed. In the end, they refunded the annual cost with them but would not refund the cost of the hosting as they said we had used it.

This was literally within 48 hours of setting up the account, since we did that on a Saturday and cancelled Monday morning. We were required to use the hosting initially to set up the account, so they had us sign in and set it up and then said they can not refund that $139.00. This is horrible customer service and not having a phone number to call for service is a terrible practice.

We have to pay for a year of service for Weebly, which we will not use, as they will not credit our account. I would not recommend SiteGround due to the bad customer service and if you need to get someone on the phone, good luck.

I've been using SiteGround for years. I've had a few headaches but usually support was able to resolve. Now? No phone support. No more tickets even? WTH? The ONLY option is chat which says "est wait time 12 min". I've been here almost an hour waiting. I'm trying to run a business an having a critical issue. With no one to talk to. I have three plans with SiteGround. Going to move all to a different hoster ASAP. This company is awful. AVOID.

Horrible company. I've been with Siteground for about 6 years now. Literally onboard before the hype train caught on. Your support has gone to shit, you canceling CPanel is shit, the continual issues I experience after the change to Site Tools is shit, and your company as a whole has gone to shit completely. This is worse than the companies who sold out to EIG.

I should have taken these reviews seriously. A week or so after my site went live on GoGeek I was told I needed to upgrade to GoBig (or whatever). Then on the first day of a retreat that I was on, they closed the site because of "resources." It's not that big of a site. So in order to bring it back online I was pretty much forced to pay $200. We're a non-profit, we couldn't have the site down.

And they did this with NO warning. After that there were numerous permission denied errors and 500 errors. And I'm on retreat (at home, but still.). Their support was pitiful, beyond pitiful, I had to steer them in the right direction. It was as though they were doing everything in their power not to help me. After a week of this I moved the site to a new hosting provider.

No more errors, no more 500 pages. Un-believable. Also no cPanel, it's a really dumbed down portal. I still need to get my $200 back. It came out of my own pocket, I will not ask my organization to pay this. I will probably open something up with the attorney general in my state. I don't know how they are still in business. They shouldn't be. Stay away!

SCAM! DO NOT USE IT. IT WILL Closed your website without your permission! They will try to promote you to use other plans! " With this notification we would like to inform you that our in-house Website Performance Monitoring System (WPMS) has signaled that your account constantly uses a large amount of the server's CPU resources. These excessive requests consume an abnormally high amount of CPU resources and endanger the overall performance of the shared server.

Your account consumed more than 208 000 CPU seconds for the last 24 hours. Violated terms of service: No more than 20,000 CPU seconds for any given calendar day; SiteGround's servers use stable hardware, as well as custom developed load-balancing monitoring system. This is why we let our accounts utilize even more CPU resources than the industry standard allows. Unfortunately, your website's server resource usage is not suitable for a shared hosting server and that is why we will no longer be able to host it there.

In order to ensure the stability of the server and all accounts hosted on it, we had to permanently limit the shared server resources your account can use. We do understand the inconvenience this issue may cause you, but please look at the situation from our point of view - your account constantly uses more resources than the shared server allows and as a result the performance of all accounts hosted on the server has been affected.

In such cases we must take the necessary measures to protect all websites hosted on the server. This is a standard procedure used by all shared hosting providers. A dedicated solution will be much more suitable for your website and will provide you with exclusive server resources needed by a website of this scale to function and grow freely. If you choose to upgrade to a higher plan, we recommend our Cloud: - Cloud Hosting Designed for High Performance ( http://www.siteground.com/cloud_hosting.htm ) Thank you for your understanding. We hope this case will be solved in the best interest for both parties. Best regards, G. Tsenov System Administrator SiteGround.com "

I cannot get to customer service. When I first came to them, they were a good web hosting company, now they are just "Meh". They had a security breach, which does not sit well with me. At. All. then when they asked me to renew my website and plan with them, they charged $319.00, which I do not agree with them on that either. so I signed up with another hosting plan.

I do not appreciate it that they cannot answer a simple question like, "How do I free up space on my website disk space so that the other hosting company can migrate the site?" I am very upset with them now, and I do not recommend this company at all.

I have been a small customer with SiteGround since 2015, with service one step up from their minimum offering as I have multiple domains. And at first I felt they were a vast improvement over my previous provider. Performance is fairly decent still, but service is another matter. My biggest complaint is how they treat existing customers vs. new customers.

Over the past year they have gutted their (already minimal) implementation of the cpanel user interface, while promising a brand new "coming soon" much better interfaces and toolset for access to both their support/billing and for our tools to manage our own sites. This interface has been in place for new customers since August of last year, but most existing customers have yet to see either.

We continue to see a poorly implemented & supported cpanel showing facilities no longer functional, etc. Today I received notice that my account would be migrated to the new "client area" (not important or useful to me!) soon, but there is no schedule yet for migration from the disfunctional cpanel to the supposedly new, improved management interface. Is there really a new improved interface? The "demo" link they offer is not very convincing? Is the problem with migrations not going well? This is sad!

I switched from the disaster that is GoDaddy to SiteGround last week, and the customer service is as some others have said, which is not good for me so far. You will sometimes wait a super long time to actually talk to someone, and once you do you might get someone who isn't friendly and hard to understand due to a heavy accent. The callback service for help doesn't work -- no one called me back, multiple times, am not sure what the deal is there. However, people on chat have been very helpful and friendly, as long as you're willing to wait a while, sometimes up to 40 minutes for me. GoDaddy had awful hosting but they did have truly incredible customer service.

In today's world I need fast response, and it just isn't there so far with SiteGround. The site itself can be very slow, as well. Not impressed so far, I'm sorry to say, but I will give it a chance while I have 30 days to try it.
