Christine Far Massage, L.M.T. There's no denying the power of bodywork. Regardless of the adjectives we give to it (pampering, rejuvenating, therapeutic) or the reasons we search for it (a luxurious treat, stress relief, pain management), massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your health care regimen.

Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related. And perhaps nothing ages us quicker, internally and externally, than high stress. While eliminating anxiety and pressure altogether in this fast-paced world may be idealistic, massage can, without a doubt, help manage stress. This translates into:
Decreased anxiety.
Better sleep quality.
Greater energy.
Improved concentration.
Increased circulation.
Lower fatigue.

Furthermore, customers often report a sense of perspective and clarity after getting a massage. The emotional balance bodywork provides can often be just as vital and valuable as the more tangible physical benefits.

In response to massage, specific physiological and chemical changes cascade throughout the body, with profound effects. Research shows that with massage:

Arthritis sufferers note fewer aches and less stiffness and ache.
Asthmatic children show better pulmonary function and higher peak air flow.
Burn injury patients report reduced pain, itching, and anxiety.
High blood pressure patients demonstrate lower diastolic blood pressure, anxiety, and stress hormones.
Premenstrual syndrome sufferers have decreased water retention and cramping.
Preterm infants have improved weight gain.

Research goes on to show the enormous benefits of touch which range from treating chronic diseases, neurological disorders, and injuries, to alleviating the tensions of modern lifestyles. Consequently, the medical community is actively embracing bodywork, and massage is now an integral part of hospice care and neonatal intensive care units. Many hospitals are also incorporating on-site massage practitioners and even spas to treat postsurgery or pain patients as part of the recovery process.

I started my career as a professional ballet dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. Because of this, I bring a well tuned kinesthetic sense of the body to my practice of massage.

My goal with every customer is to be a channel for healing, transformation and peace. Using all of my technical expertise in anatomy and physiology, I also tune into my intuitive brain to let myself to be guided, incorporating a variety of massage techniques into each session.

I concentrate on open and ongoing communication with each client to insure that you are comfortable and that your needs and purposes are being met.

I work in the offices of Dr. Imber Coppinger D.O. Dr. Coppinger has referred patients to me with a variety of issues including muscular and skeletal pain, stress and anxiety and recovery from injury. Although, many of my customers come for regular massage for the purpose of maintaining their health and well being. We all encounter physical and emotional stresses in our life. Massage is a very effective tool for relieving and countering the negative effeclives lifes stresses before they become a more serious condition.

Christine's understanding of the body, especially soft tissue and muscle group interconnectedness, enhance her massage technique so that she is able to relieve and heal pain. Christine's exceptional sensitivity and knowledge of the body offer unique healing beyond a traditional massage.

I just received a massage from Christine Far. I am going back as soon as she can fit me in. My body has been compensating for an old dance injury for years. I have not always taken care of it,( too busy, it will go away, etc.) and now I find myself aching and unable to move as I desire.Chris immediately targeted in on the painful areas and concentrated her efforts there.

When I left, I truly felt relaxed, and that my muscles had released so much of their tension. What was once a fearful idea that I was going to have to live with pain has been replaced with the possibility of a full recovery with proper care.

Christine has worked as a healer for many decades. I myself have been working with her for two decades. I have seen this very talented woman's skills explode over the last two years. Over the last two years I've gotten weekly massage treatments from Christine and it is the highlight of my week. My patients rave about their experience with her, not just that her massages are amazingly enjoyable, but that they experience resolution of often very long term chronic conditions that have bothered them for years. Christine and I are able to work closely together to find what works for an individual patient. Lastly, her prices are the most competitive in Athens. You can hardly afford NOT to see Christine! I hope you treat yourself to relaxation, nourishment and healing available through Christine's work!
