June 2022. This is a pretty cool place with various activities nearby. They also allow pets. The main attraction is definitely the hot spring and it's was FULL. Even parking was tough to find because day passes can be purchased for the hot spring. There's a restaurant (requires reservation) inside the lodge and a bar on the other side of the building.

Overall this was a cool spot to be at. The lodge has different rooms and shared bathrooms. The bathrooms were spacious and clean. It takes about a minute for the hot water. The bedroom was a bit outdated. The entire lodge is carpeted (warning to those with allergies). The staff was mostly super friendly, but then encountered a few that seemed dismissive and rushed. Overall a fun place and would visit again.

The saloon (that bar is a gem) and nice staff got this 2-stars; the lodging is just plain bad. We stayed at the Lower Lodge, and other than perhaps a sub-par overlay of the tub, no meaningful investment has been made in the rooms since they were built (likely 30+ years ago). Beds are rough and have a big slump in the middle, all furniture is wore out/dinged up/etc, plugs are so loose they aren't functional, almost no natural light - and for the window we had the bug screens were old and loose and were very noisy with any wind.

There is rustic/old/charming and then there is wore out/not invested in. this place is the latter. The real kicker was the price point. it was an astronomical price compared to the quality of the accommodations. But if you're in the area, I would for sure recommend the saloon - great staff and good food and drinks!

Everything and everyone was absolutely amazing and beautiful. Loved the saloon, those folks know how to make a mean cocktail and the live band was on point. I enjoyed getting on the dance floor. The scenic views, no words to describe. My favorite part, it being 15° outside while I'm setting in 103° hot springs melting my worries away.

My wife and I were just day tripping and found this place and I must say, the drive towards the hot springs was awesome. Then we pulled into the property and it just felt relaxing and peaceful. The gift shop had everything you needed and then we went to the main lodge and everyone was nice and welcoming. We'll be back.

Not as great as those in Japan, but probably the best hot spring bathhouse you can find in Yellowstone. It's more like a pool but every age can enjoy it from babies to seniors. My 4 year old enjoyed it. There's a ledge in the water to sit on, and a hotter pool for above 6 years olds. Wonderful to be able to soak in warm water while it is snowing. The small hot pool is not nearly as hot as it could be.

I didn't stay at Chico, but bought day passes to swim in the pool. We were in town visiting Yellowstone and stayed in Bozeman. We had found this on social media and wanted to visit. It didn't disappoint. It was pretty chilly when we visited and the water was Perfect. 94 degrees in the pool and 103 in the hot tub. It made for a perfect day and a unique experience.

This location is stunning! The restaurant serves really top notch food and the service is always excellent. They make one of the best Lemon Drop Martinis I've ever had - nice and tart without being too sweet. We had a great time exploring the extensive mountain biking trails while we were here. You go through some really interesting and fun landscapes, with incredible mountain views in every direction.

The trail we took, which starts near the spa, is certainly doable for pretty much any mountain biker. There are lots of fun ups and downs on a rocky dirt trail. Do bring bear spray, as bears (and elk) definitely live in the area.

A big thank you to Debbie and Ann Marie at the gift shop who went above and beyond exceptional customer service. I purchased the wrong gift item (my fault) and discovered it when returned to Bozeman (staying with friend whole on vaca). They offered to exchange for the intended item in person while they had business in Bozeman. Coincidentally Ann Marie would be there Friday, and Debbie on Wednesday. I met up with Debbie for a quick swap! Don't think this would have happened where I live in California! Thanks again!

My family and I were staying in Paradise Valley and this gem was only a short drive away. Decently priced but bring a towel or you'll be charged. We had a unique experience in the snow and it was like a hidden oasis. This is a must for anyone traveling to Montana.

This place is Awesome! The hot springs and then also a pool that is all right outside under the stars. Then they have the bar that opens up right to hot tub and u can get drinks and chill in hot tub. Afterwrds go to bar and grab a bite to eat in their cool low key bar. Love it! It does get Very busy but everyone is so nice. U can get a day pass for $10 or u can stay at the hotel. Can't wait to go back!

Very cool piece of history, hotel is very vintage awesome feel to it. Tip: there's a first come first serve bar in the main dinning hall if you can't get in. People well dressed for the formal dinner occasion as well to relax. Food is absolutely amazing, worth the price.

I mean, of course this place gets a five star. There's nothing else like it on the planet. You're out in rustic Montana, soaking in a natural hot spring coming directly from the earth's volcanic activity. My only real complaint was I wish there was less people there. Maybe they should charge a little more to make it a better experience for people who are willing to spend more?

I highly recommend staying at one of the cabins and spending time walking through the grounds surrounding the Hot Spring tubs. This is definitely one of the places you want to spend at least a day or two.

What a wonderful place! We didn't spend the night, only the day. However when we go back, we hope to spend the night. The pools were amazing and hot! Lovely way to spend some time and the mountain views are beautiful.

Nice place in the rustic style. Comfy. Try the outdoor pool in the winter. Awesome.

Cool spot that is great historical location.it even has my Dad's original wood furniture from over 30 years ago (although refinished and new seats). The restaurant staff was rude about not seating us without a reservation, despite more than 50% of the restaurant being open. The food was good, but not great. The hot springs and drinks were amazing.

The lower lodge had nice rooms, but no elevators FYI. We had some very nice maintenance help us carry our bags up the stairs and the rooms were warm. Love that they are dog friendly. Recommendations: book on the first floor, make restaurant reservations, lastly bring a robe and flip flops for the hot springs.

It's clear that the people who run this place take pride in the establishment and care for the guests. We stayed in an affordable 2-bed room in historic lodge w/ sink in main lodge and it was thoughtfully appointed and very clean, as well as the shared bathrooms. The restaurant staff was excellent, for breakfast they had no chef (hard to staff w covid), so it was continental, but truly thoughtful continental-- great quality fresh bagels from town with good spreads, house-baked scones and muffins, fruit, Greek yogurt. a decent value even if not cooked to order.

The saloon is an authentic local place serving house-made soups (the cream of mushroom was excellent). The hot pools were large, clean, and fantastic. A fun place to play tag with kids, to sit and have wine with adults, even to lap swim. At night in winter the steam rises and creates a wonderful atmosphere-- like floating in a heavenly cloud. The gift shop is also well done and thoughtfully sourced.

Even the maintenance team would often greet me with a smile. I used to oversee park concessions for the National Park Service, and would regularly perform facility inspections. My visit exceeded high expectations. I hope to come back and to bring my entire family.

My boyfriend and I were visiting Paradise Valley and were highly recommended to come here and we are so glad we did! We started off with having dinner and drinks at the bar in the dining area, Chris and Chase took excellent care of us at the bar! Then we went to the pool and loved it. We probably stayed in the pool for close to two hours, so relaxing and such a fun environment. We can't wait to return! Thanks again for such a lovely night.

Chico is one of four developed hot springs within 2 hours of Bozeman, MT. If you're in Paradise Valley or the Livingston area, it's a no-brainer. It's only 30 minutes from Livingston and one of the best places to relax while exploring Paradise Valley. I would place them further down on the list of hot springs options because the pools are more basic, there is no live music outdoors, no lighting, and only two pool areas.

The warmer pool is also very small. The big benefit to Chico is being able to order a drink from the poolside bar, and only one of the other hot springs offers this. The other two are operated by ultra religious owners that believe alcohol is polluting the body and sinful to drink. Going to live music (inside the bar) after soaking is one of the other great options. You could also bring an SO in the morning to soak and then get brunch in their restaurant that's in the same building complex!

We are enjoying our stay at Chico. The atmosphere is pretty laid back and harkens back to an earlier day. The pool is nice, but not as hot as we thought it would be. It avg about 101. We are in room 238 and the pics are of that room. I'd suggest a room, like ours, in the Warren wing since it was quieter then the ones by the pool access corridor and it had its own bathroom.

Honestly, not sure why this place is so highly recommended. The water was as warm as a stale bath, at best. Did not eat any of the food or drinks, so I can't comment on that. I suppose I was just expecting more of an "experience." It feels like a community pool as opposed to a relaxing hot spring. I would recommend saving your time and money and spending the day elsewhere.

Came for the hot springs, but was highly disappointed. It's more like a community/public pool at best. Would have been better off running a bath at home and pouring myself a drink. Save your money and time. Far better things to do in the area.

We stayed for two nights last week. We were privileged To have Caleb as our server both night in the dining room. We had a group of 6-7 each night with 2 guests having gluten allergies. Caleb was thoughtful. and very considerate of our allergies each night and was careful to suggest selections that would be safe. Amazing food and service as always.

We had horrible service from the BOSS Kari who after are table of 15 adults and children ordered food in the restaurant she then told us we could not eat or own food OUTSIDE the restaurant and we would have to move it across the property in 40 degree weather with 10 small wet cold children who all needed naps due to swimming all morning, was. extremely rude and mean.

For some one in a supervisor oasis too. She should have some customers service. Not to mention she was acting very stuck up like she was judging us because we were all single moms and had a ton of kids with us and most under 5 needed a nap. Would not recommend will not come back ever for the pool or to stay in the hotel resort. This one woman and how she treated me ruined my whole experience.

Like you in the middle of the woods and I can't eat chips or a hand made sandwich out side because it's to close to your restaurant that is connected to the pool. The foot took 35 min to get a grilled cheese and frys to our table mean while I could not even feed my kids food we brought OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANT. Never again

Very fun and affordable day passes for the whole family! Only downside was the cost of food at the poolside grill as it was very high for sub par food.

I love this place! The ambiance is unparalleled, the service is 5 stars! However, today I ordered a $50 bison steak that was served with what I'm sure is the same saline material that they use to keep their roads ice free in the winter. Fritos aren't as salty. The restaurant is wonderful and I whole heatedly recommend it, just don't order the bison ribeye! My heart is bleeding for the poor bison who gave up their ribeye for this, Thing Disappointed is a tremendous understatement. Chico, you're better than this.

I can't speak to the rooms at the resort - just the "hot springs." What a horrible disappointment! I've visited hot springs on many vacations and this is not a hot spring.it was a gross, musty smelling, lukewarm, oversized bathtub. We stayed about 5 minutes in the crowded "hot spring" and left because it felt very unsanitary.

HOLY S**T! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! The hot tub was huge first of all and so so relaxing. Pretty hot too- I could only stay in for a little at a time. The regular pool gets really deep and is massive as well and it's also pretty warm. Bonus points is they serve alcohol at the pool here and you don't have to be a guest to swim! All day swim is $10, and they give you a wrist band to show entry.

This may be the best "1 star" hotel ever. True, my room in the main ledge doesn't have a TV, or air conditioning, or room service, or even a toilet. But there is a fantastic restaurant, a natural spring pool, a gorgeous setting, a saloon, an ice cream shop, and more. Clean, friendly, and a great value. (Other room options do have other amenities.) I rarely give any review 5 stars and Chico isn't perfect (free coffee doesn't start until 7am) but it is a real gem.

So much fun to be had. We went on a lovely horseback ride & rounded out the day with a soak. Our wrangler, Dalaney, was energetic, friendly and a real pleasure to ride with. Soaking in the healing, warm, hot springs was just what we needed after riding. Family friendly & a real Montana experience.

I love this place! So relaxing and beautiful. Beautiful grounds with manicured lawn, flowers. Surrounded by mountain scenery. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. I ate my first beef Wellington ever in their fine restaurant. We brought our dog Tiger. We for sure plan to return to swim once more in the pool and hot pool. Next time we want to stay longer so we can enjoy a float down the Yellowstone River.

This place is amazing. The views and accommodations are great, but what makes it incredible is the staff. Everyone was amazing and super friendly. A special shout-out goes to Kelby the Saloon bartender. He is truly a national treasure.stop in and tip the hell out of that beautiful man

The restaurant here was an absolute surprise. The wine list is broad and deep. The service is top notch! We had a self-inflicted reservation snafu and they fit us in anyway. The sauteed wild mushrooms were delicious! Two beef dishes were cooked to perfection! And the wine was amazing! The staff were well versed in the vast wine selection and gave good advice. (And our room was nice, too, but the restaurant was the highpoint of our stay).

Booked a cabin and, at the time of the booking, was told that there wasn't a tv, which was fine, but was told that there was wi-fi. Got there and no wi-fi. Called the front desk and they said you should have it, but was unable to connect to anything. Mentioned all this to the clerk during check out and there attitude was like, whatever. Also, spent over $100 on two dinners, and got very little food in relation to the price. Atmosphere and location were wonderful, but staff and infrastructure could use some help and updating.

Hotel/ service desk staff could use an attitude adjustment but the hot springs itself was cool. It's nice they let you have drinks poolside, the staff inside the poolside grill were nice and helpful though. Very busy for a Saturday which was to be expected. Food was good!

Honestly save your money. My husband and I are spending his post deployment leave here in Montana. The day we checked in they called to move our massages to a different day because they double booked- and the only option was for one 30 minute massage. We had booked two 70 minute massages. I wish we would have saved our money and stayed at Sage Lodge our entire trip vs. coming to Chico. We will be leaving Montana disappointed. Thankfully our stay at Sage was worth the flights out.

We went to the hot springs back at the end of July. They were limiting the number of people allowed in to the pool area due to COVID and masks were required indoors. Drinks & food were available. you could order at the window without having to go inside. They had a nice selection of beers and other beverages. We had a yummy huckleberry vodka pink lemonade slushie. Yum! We enjoyed our visit very much and would definitely go back!

A Montana native friend of mine recommended Chico when I mentioned to her I wanted to 'get away' with my husband for our honeymoon. What a perfect recommendation indeed. Chico just has an ambiance that has to be seen to be believed. It is quaint and charming, rustic and sweet. If you're looking for true luxury, keep moving. It's comfortable but no-frills on the amenities front (no AC, limited toiletries in the room and a basic motel type in-room style).

But what it lacks in fancy it more than makes up for in peaceful relaxation. You don't need the AC; the windows open and there are plenty of fans. Who cares about smelling like a delicious spa when you are spending your days in rocking chairs, benches and the lushest green lawns imaginable, starting at gorgeous mountain ranges and deep blue skies?

Everyone is so friendly and knows exactly what they're doing. It feels like a spacious compound with stuff to do for everyone: hot springs pool, pet the horses, ride the horses, spa, gourmet dining, cafe and gift shop, gardens.the list goes on and on. My husband and I kept mentioning how it would be a perfect place for our remote families to all meet up and enjoy some fresh air one day.

We will definitely be back. Loved our horseback ride (2 hours was a bit long, my legs were wobblin'!) The restaurant was delicious and the spa was so relaxing. Stay away from the spirulina wrap though.it smelled like low tide. PHEW!

The food is fantastic, but served with a side of coronavirus. The restaurant does not follow CDC nor state health guidelines, with closely spaced tables filled to capacity, servers without masks, and no social distancing protocols. We traveled from California and our neighboring guests were from Minnesota. This is exactly how a national pandemic persists. Fortunately, the horse riding outfitters were more on point (masked and social distanced), and the hot pool less crowded, as only guests were allowed in.

What a crock! Their website says the hot springs is open for day use until 11pm. I show up after driving specifically to be there and the sign on the door says open to lodging guest only and closes at 10pm. This was around 10pm. Well, thanks for letting me know on the website. I know it's a challenging time, but the website is like "day use guest are welcome" or the equivalent- I dunno, I exited the site as I'm about to exit the place. Thanks anyway.

Words cannot describe Chico, as a first timer and my boyfriend a lifer, I was skeptical (he tends to hype things up) upon driving up I was already in awe. Chico is nestled right in the middle of heaven, pictures do not do it justice. We settled into our room, small but worked for us and headed to the pool. The pool is perfect temp, walk up bar window and access to the saloon.

Our first day we were blessed with sunshine and our last was picturesque with light snow fall. We ate in the saloon (flat bread and burger was a hit) and the dining room (NO WORDS, SO GOOD) we soaked, hiked and met some amazing people. Chico stole my heart and I don't even want it back. I am now converted into a lifer. Every 1600 mile driven was worth it.

This place is great! We did a soak and had a drink following a great hike at Pine Creek. I would love to come back, stay longer and try the main dining area. The facilities were clean and well maintained. Was hoping the music would start earlier, but as we were headed back to Bozeman missed that. Great destination!

This place is a well oiled machine. First for the hotel.there are a variety of lodging options available. There are rooms in the main lodge, with or without bathrooms. They have shared hallway bathrooms for rooms that don't have a bathroom. I love that there are no TVs! The rooms are very rustic-not fancy. They are just a quiet place to rest.

The hot springs were HOT! Relaxing and fun. For the dining options. The Poolside Grille has burgers, fries, ice cream and more. The Saloon is where you want to go for drinks, a little gambling and atmosphere. The fine dining is just that-fine dining. There really should be a review opportunity solely for the fine dining. They have narrowed this down to a science.

They take reservations and I would highly recommend making one. This was one of the best meals I have ever had-from beginning to end. Started with the Spinach Salad-absolutely delicious. The dinner was the stand out- 2-4 oz filets on beds of either potatoes or a mushroom mix. I savored every bite. The meal did not stop there! The Almond Joy cake was out of this world-coconut and chocolate perfection! Alongside my meal, I enjoyed sparkling wine, and red wine with the meat.

All wines paired very well with the meal. I can't say enough good things about the fine dining! Finally, I have left so many things out of this review-the little store is perfectly charming with a coffee shop and gift shop. They have a variety of trinkets, post cards and other goodies to take home. Chico Hot Springs is a must for anyone traveling in this area!
